Art House is a celebration of the wealth of creative talent that exists within the borough of Richmond upon Thames. Artists join together and exhibit their work across two summer weekends, providing visitors the chance to see the unique environment in which their art is created, celebrate local artists and buy work directly from the creator themselves.
Art House 2015 was the borough’s 20th open studios festival, coordinated by Richmond Arts Service. Over 500 local artists welcomed visitors over the festival weekends, exhibiting a wonderfully diverse range of artwork including painting and photography; stained glass and woodwork; sculpture and ceramics; to jewellery, bag design, furniture and upholstery!
Art House venues spread across all corners of the borough with exhibitions in homes, studios, cafes, church halls, boathouses and even some of the borough’s most beautiful heritage buildings including Turners House and Garrick’s Temple.
The Art House 2015 festival included a ‘pop-up’ group exhibition in an empty high street venue to give visitors the opportunity to see a sample of the work being exhibited in the different Art House venues across the borough. The exhibition transformed the space inside 1-3 Richmond Road, Twickenham (formally the Lyric Palace Cinema) The exhibition opened on the 2 June - 10 July.
The 2017 festival dates are confirmed as Friday 23 - Sunday 25 June and Friday 30 June - Sunday 2 July 2017. To stay up to date with all information about the open studios please join our mailing list by clicking here.
